Townsville (84)                    Def     Rockhampton (55)

R Flannagan 23 R Cox 21               J Whittle 18 A Garden 13

A second quarter rampage by the Flames (31-11) sending them across the line and into the Grand Final.  Flannagan and Cox just too strong with the Flames getting alot more shots away than the Cyclones.  Rocky have done themselves proud after a very successful year, where they now bow out of the competition to the number 1 ranked team.

Cairns (104)              Def           Rockhampton (77)

D Vale 20 A Grabau 15               C Tragardh 25 G Scott 17

Better percentages from the field, the free-throw line and outside, adding to a night that was all the Marlins.  Rockets will now rely on the Goannas to go down against the Marlins next weekend in the Grand Final to grab the nationals wildcard position.  It’s not over just yet….

Towns

RBI wishes to speed the Rockets & Cyclones on to a win this weekend when they play against both the Gold Coast on saturday and South West Metro on sunday.  Good luck to all our players who we hope put in a brilliant performance to drive us into the finals.  They may have quite a challenge but both the mens and womens team are strong, fit and rearing to go.  Have a safe trip and clean up the court, Rockets & Cyclones!

Cameron Tragardh, Rockhampton Stadium Nightclub Rockets
Rocket Cameron Tragardh collects the Player of the Week Award for the second time in 2007, after tipping the scales back in Round 3.  The Rockets took on a tough southern competitor in the Maroochy Clippers on Sunday, in a game where Tragardh showed no mercy.  Signing off the regular season home game schedule for the Rocky fans, Tragardh took an amazing 45pts, 23rbs and 5asts to showcase his superior offensive and defensive ‘bag of tricks’.  With the majority of the work done in close range, he managed 20 of 33 from the field and helped to move the team one step closer to the possibility of hosting quarter and semi finals.  Other Round 14 mammoth efforts include John Fitzgerald of the Clippers continuing his rampage with 37pts, 11rbs in game one against Mackay, then 33pts, 14rbs against Rocky in game two of the teams road double; Todd Meyerding of the Bulls hit 5 of 7 three-pointers to claw his way to 36pts, 7rbs, 11asts and 3stls in a huge win over the Power (155-105); Ben Thompson of the Rockets nailing a triple-double of 17pts, 10rbs, 13asts showing his value to the program and finals campaign; and Jason Aucoin of the Goannas with 36pts, 15rbs, and 3asts at 50% from the field to give the team the top southern pool position.
