On Thursday 20th September 2007, the new qld premier Anna Bligh came to Hegvold Stadium to announce a $1 million dollar federal grant that will be spent to build a roof/cover over the outside courts 1 & 2.

This is conjunction to the grant we have received from Qld Sports and Recreaton in a bid to revamp the entire grounds, including Hegvold Stadium, offices, outside courts, etc.

Next year will be a big year for us as we undertake this project.  RBI wishes to thank the Committee for getting the project underway, and especially a big thanks goes to Mr Ian Weigh, from Ian Weigh Motors, for his outstanding input and commitment into this project.

We are looking for coaches, managers and interested players, both men and women (no age limit) to play in the summer league.

This summer league is to be run as a Carnival on weekends.  The first carnival is set down for Oct 20 & 21 at the Cap Coast Stadium.

Participating teams will be from Bundaberg, Gladstone, Cap Coast, Rockhampton and possibly Hervey Bay.

Anyone interested in committing themselves to the CQ Summer League are to submit their names by Sept 21, please contact Barrie Brady on 4928 0387 or the office on 4922 5544.  Sign-on sheets will also be available on the notice board and at the canteen on game nights.

Recently, the draws for the rest of season 2 have been sent out to all of the senior and junior players.  These have been in paper format and were handed out from 10 sep onwards.  If you have not yet received a copy of the up-coming draws/games, there will be copies on your respective notice boards.  Emails will still be sent out and published weekly regardless of the paper format, in case you have either forgotten, misplaced or unable to obtain a copy of the games.

Preliminary and Semi Finals of your respective division/grade will be held late november with Grand Finals taking place early in December.  In the mean time, keep up the pace and show off your moves- you never know who will be playing in the grand finals!

Good luck everyone!
